What sail shape works best?              How many bears will your boat hold?              Can you construct a waterwheel?

Welcome to Findley Oaks Elementary School's Advanced Strategies Lab. Here students utilize a variety of tools to understand and incorporate standard mathematical practices, begin to understand the principles of engineering, and enrich their vocabulary with the language of thinking.  Using Lego Education Simple Machine age leveled kits and a variety of Mindware games, the students explore new and creative ways to approach, strategize, and solve problems.

Can you build a house to withstand the Big Bad Wolf?  1st Grade engineered their houses based on the story about the Three Little Pigs.
